“ ll रोगस्य चिन्तामपि रोगभावस्थितैर्ग्रहैर्वा क्यमृत्युसंस्थैः
रोगेश्वरेणापि तदन्वितैर्वा द्वित्र्यादिसम्वादवशाद्वदन्तु ll “…………..१.
1. To know about diseases is to be checked from
the planets posited in the 6th HOUSE, 8th HOUSE and
12th HOUSE., from the planets who own the 6th
House and the planets associated with the Lord of the 6th
HOUSE. A good astrologer well versed in
PREDICTIVE ASTROLOGY will be able to predict if it is seen in two, three or
more independent YOGAS.
“ ll पित्तोष्णज्वरतापदेहतपनापस्मारह्रत्क्रोडज –
व्याधिन्वक्ति रविर्दृगार्त्यरिभयं त्वग्दोषमस्थिस्त्रुतिम् l
काष्ठाग्न्यस्त्रविषार्तिदारतनयव्यापच्चतुष्पाद्भयम्

2. RAVI causes high fever with high bile
problems, burning sensation on body, epilepsy, heart problems, burning 0f eyes,
अस्थिस्राव (Leucorrhea), Stomach Troubles,
Skin Diseases, Enemies’ wrath, danger from fire, weapon, poison, etc. , trouble
from wife and children, thieves, injury from Four legged creatures, snakes,
Ruler, Lord YAMA and GOD SHIVA.
“ ll निद्रालस्यकफातिसारपीटकाः शीतज्वरं चन्द्रमाः
शृङ्ग्यब्जाहतिमग्निमान्द्यमरुचिं
योषिव्द्याथाकामिलाः l
चेतः शान्तिममृग्विकारमुदकाद्भितिं च
बलग्रहाद्
दुर्गाकित्ररधर्मदेवफणभृद्यक्ष्याश्च

3. CHANDRA causes sleepiness, laziness,
sleeplessness. phlegmatic diseases, lethal abscesses larger than boils,
Typhoid, stomach problems like indigestion, diarrhea, tastelessness, danger
from waterborne diseases and water, trouble from women, Jaundice, dengue, mental fatigue, fear from snakes, wrath of
Goddesses, YAMA etc.
“ ll तृष्णासृक्कोपापित्तज्वरमनलाविषास्त्रार्तिकुष्ठाक्षिरोगान्
गुल्मापस्मारमज्जाविहतिपरुषतापामिकादेहाभङ्गान् l
भूपारिस्तेनपीडां सहजसुतसुहृद्वैरियुद्दं विधत्ते
रक्षो गन्धर्वघोरग्रहभयमवनीसूनुरूर्ध्वङ्गरोगम् ll “………………४.
4. MARS (कुज) causes excessive sleep, morbid
irritation from bilious Fever, Fear of Fire or Fire accidents, Poisoning,
injury through weapons, Leprosy, Eye problems, Appendicitis, cancer, psoriasis,
itches, body roughness, deformation of body, Fear from the ruler, thieves,
enemies, diseases of upper part of the body, fear from Ghosts and such others,
demons etc.
“ ll भ्रान्तिं
दुर्वचनं दृगामयगलध्राणोत्थरोगं ज्वरं
पित्तश्लेष्मसमीरजं पिषमपि स्वग्दोषाण्ड्वामयान् l
दुःस्वप्नं च विचर्चिकाग्निपतने पारुष्य बन्धश्रमान्
गन्धर्क्षितिवहर्यवाहिभिरपि ज्ञो वक्ति
पीडां ग्रहै: ll “…………..५.
5. Mercury(बुध) deals with
CONFUSION OF MIND like Madness, loss of remembrance power etc., trouble in
vocal organs like harsh speech etc. Eye disease, diseases connected with ENT,
fever due to imbalance of WIND , BILE and PHELGUM ( वात.
पित्त,कफ) (THRIDOSHA (Vāta or Vāyu (wind) is the
impulse principle necessary to mobilize the function of the nervous system. It
affects the windy humour, flatulence, gout, rheumatism, etc. Pitta (bile) is the bilious
humour, or that secreted between the stomach and bowels and flowing through the
liver and permeating spleen, heart, eyes, and skin; its chief quality is heat. It
is the energy principle which uses bile to direct digestion and hence
metabolism.Kapha (phlegm) is the body fluid
principle which relates to mucous, lubrication and the carrier of nutrients.)
Food poisoning, Scabies and itches, psoriasis or any type of skin
diseases, jaundice, bad dreams, body itching, hard labour, fear arising from
fire accidents, trouble from ghosts and GANDARVAS etc.
“ ll गुल्मान्त्रज्वरशोकमोहकफजान् श्रेत्रार्तिमोहामयान्
देवस्थाननिधिप्रपीडनमहीदेवेशशापोद्भवम् l
रोगं कित्ररयक्षदेवफणभृद्विद्याधराद्युद्भवम्
जीवः सूचयति स्वयं बुधगुरुत्कृष्टापचारोद्भवम्.......................६.
6. GURU causes either
appendicitis or stomach troubles, fever connected with bowels, viscera etc.,
fainting and other diseases due to sorrowful events, litigations or such
troubles from temple affairs, Curse of a Brahmin, troubles due to hoarding of
wealth, oppression from GANDARWAS, KINNARAS , curse of snake etc. Preceptor’s curse, Curse from elderly people
due to deviation from duty towards them etc.
“ ll पाण्डुश्लेष्ममरुत्प्रकोपनयनव्यापत्प्रमेह
मयान्
गुह्यस्यामयमूत्रकृच्छ्रमदनव्यापत्तिशुक्लस्त्रुतिम् l
वारस्त्रीकृतदेहकान्तिविहतीं शोषामयं योगिनी –
यक्षिमातृगणाद्भयं प्रियसुहृद्भभङ्गं
सितः सूचयेत् ll “………७
7. The following are the troubles and diseases
caused by SHUKRA (VENUS) :
Anemia, Eye diseases, Urinary-tract
infection, painful and frequent urination, diabetes, impotency, imbalance of
phlegm and wind due to which sluggishness, Mel colic, Sanguine etc. occurs, Lack of vitality, intercourse with
prostitutes, softening of bones, fear of female ghosts, female deities etc .,
termination of friends who are very dear etc.
“ ll वात श्र्लेष्मविकारपादविहतिं चापात्तितन्द्राश्रमान्
भ्रान्तिं कुक्षिरुगन्तरुष्णभृतकध्वंसं
च पारश्वाहतिम् l
भार्यापुत्रविपत्तिमङ्गविहतिं हृत्तापमर्क्कात्मजो
वृक्षाश्मक्षतिमाह कश्मलगणैः पीडां
पिशाचादिभिः ll “…८.
8. SHANI (SATURN) causes diseases through VAAYU
and KAPHA (वायुकप्ह कोपं), paralysis of leg which make one
LAME, mental aberration, fatigue due to heavy labor, stomachache, too much heat
in body, Servants” problem, danger to wife and children, injury to limb and
rib, mental anguish, trouble from some legendary and mischievous creature like
PHANTOM, Injury caused a stone or such things like wood etc. and misfortune,
etc.
“ ll स्वर्भानुर्हृदितापकृष्ठविमति व्याधिं विषं कृत्रिमम्
पदार्ति च पिशाचपत्रगभयं भार्यातनूजपदम् l
व्रह्मक्षत्रविरोधशत्रुजभयं
केतुस्तुसंसूचयेत्
प्रेतोत्थ्यं च भयं विषं च गुलिको
देहार्तिमाशौचजम् ll “…………..९.
9. Troubles and diseases attributed to RAHU,
KETHU and GULIKA (MAANDHI) are given together in the above verse are given
herein :
PALPITATION OF HEART due to heart disease,
Asthma or Emphysema or any such problems directly /indirectly affecting the
heart, leprosy, diseases affecting brain or mind, danger from neurotoxic,
metabolic, allergenic, carcinogenic substances, leg pains, trouble from ghosts
etc trouble from serpents diseases to wife and children are caused by RAHU.
KETHU shows
troubles due to disputes from Brahmins
and Kshathriyas or even from enemies .
MAANDHI
causes fear from seeing corpses, fear of poisoning, bodily pain, impurity due to demise of near
relations called as പുല, சாவுதீட்டு.
“ ll मन्दारान्वितवीक्षिते व्ययधने चन्द्रारुणौ चाक्षिरुक्
शौर्यायाङ्गिरसो यमारसहिता द्दप्ठा यदि श्रोत्ररुक् l
सोग्रे पञ्चमभे
भवेदुदररुग्रन्ध्रारिनाथान्विते
तद्वस्तप्तमनैघने सगुदरुक्छुक्रे च
गुह्यामयः ll “…………….१०
10. When RAVI and CHANDRA occupy
2nd and 12th houses being associated with or aspected by
KUJA and SHANI ( MARS and SATURN), the person is sure to suffer from eye
disease.
If 3rd
and 11th Houses and GURU are associated with or aspected by SHANI
and KUJA then the native will suffer from ear problems.
If any malefic
especially MARS (செவ்வாய், കുജന്) is
in the 5th House having association with or conjucted with the LORD
of 6th or 8th HOUSE, the Native will suffer from Stomach ache or stomach
trouble.
Rectum (Straight portion of intestine) troubles will be
caused to the native with the lord of the 6th occupiethe 7th or 8th
house along with malefics.
SHUKRA under the same conditions will make the native to
suffer from venereal diseases

क्षीणेन्दौ जलमेषु पापसहिते
तत्स्थेऽम्बुरोगं क्षयम् ll “…………….११.
11. If Ravi
occupies the 6th or 8th House, it indicates that the
Native will be gripped by fever. If
KUJA or KETHU occupies the 6th
or 8th House , there will be danger from injury or ulcer
If GURU occupy the houses
mentioned above , the Native will suffer from Tuberculossis, chronic caugh or
such diseases.
If SHUKRA occupies 6th
or 8th House in a Native’s JANMA, then he/she will suffer from
diseases of private parts.
If SHANI is in such a position
then the native will suffer from nervous problems.
When RAHU aspected by MARS is in
the 6th or 8th House the person will suffer from big
boils with puss formation all over the body.
If SHANI is posited with CHANDRA
in the above Houses the Native will suffer from enlarged spleen or any such
disease.
If the 6th or 8th
House is a watery sign and a malefic situates in it, then the Waning Moon will
cause watery diseases or consumption of bad water, liquor etc.
“ ll जातो गच्छति येन केन मरणं वक्ष्येऽथ तत्कारण्
रन्ध्रस्थैस्तदवेक्षकैर्बलवता
तस्योक्तरोगैर्मृतिः l
रन्ध्रर्क्षेत्त्करुऽजाऽथवा मृतपतिप्राप्तर्क्षदोषेण
वा
रन्ध्रेशेन खरत्रिभागपतिना मृत्यु
वदेत्रीश्र्चितम्...........................१२.
12. Herein, Manthreswara explains the manner in which a
person will meet with his death with causes :-
As per Manthreswara,
the death will be caused by the effects of the STRONGEST PLANET IN THE 8TH
HOUSE OR ASPECTING THE 8TH HOUSE.
Further, he says that if no planet occupies or aspects the 8th
house, the death will be caused by LORD of the 8th HOUSE or diseases
signified by the 8th HOUSE. Or the 22nd DECANTE FROM
LAGNA.
“ ll ग्रहेण युक्ते निधने तदुक्तरोगैर्मृतिर्वाथ
तदीक्षकस्य l
ग्रहैर्विमुक्ते निधनेऽथ तस्य राशेः
स्वभावोदितदोषजाता ll……१३.
13. The
astrologer should declare that death will be caused by diseases which relates
as per the planet in the 8th House.
If no planet is positioned in the 8th House, then the death will be caused as per the
aspect of the planet towards 8th House.
“ ll अग्न्युष्णज्वरपित्तशस्त्रजमिनश्चन्द्रो विषूच्यंबुरु –
ग्यष्मादि क्षितिजोऽसृजा च
दहनक्षुद्राभिचारायुधैः l
पाण्ड्वादि भ्रमजं बुधो गुरुरनायासेन
मृत्युं कफात्
स्त्रीसङ्गोत्थरुजं कविस्तु मरुता वा
संनिपातैः शनिः ll “.१४
“ ll कुष्टेन वा कृत्रिमभक्षणाद्वा राहुर्विषाद्वाथ
मसूरिकाद्यैः l
कुर्याच्छिखी दुर्मरणं नराणां रिपोर्विरोधादपि
कीटकाद्यैः ll “ १५.
14-15. The following are the means or cause of death due to the effects of
Planets given below :-
(a) RAVI : Due to
fire, high fever, biles (पित्त), weapon (शस्त्र).
(b) CHANDRA : Cholera, Diseases due to bad water
like MAHODARA or diseases known as
RESPIRATORY DISEASES in
general.
(c) ANGARAKA : FIRE
ACCIDENTS, MAGICAL SPELLS & WITCHCRAFT (பில்லிசூன்யம்) and weapons.
(d) BUDHA
: Disambiguation, Low Blood cell counts generally known as Anemia,
cancer, giddiness etc.
(e) GURU
: Phelgm which is produced by
respiratory system or without any trouble ( अनायास मरणं )
(f) SHUKRA
: Shukra causes venereal diseases or any such diseases from women
especially prostitutes.
(g) MANDHAN : Shani
causes WIND DISEASES like Asthma, Typhoid etc.
(h) SARPI : RAAHU causes Food poisoning,
Smallpox, Leprosy, bites from venomous creatures and such
Diseases.
(i) SHIKHI (KETHU) : will be the cause for
suicides and such unnatural deaths , assassination by people
Who hate one.
“ ll लग्नादष्टमराशेः स्वभावदोषोद्भवं वादेनं मृत्युम् l
निधनेशस्य नवांशस्थितराशिनिमित्तदोषजनितं वा ll “…….. १६.
16. Prediction on death is to be made after checking the
evil effects the 8th HOUSE from LAGNA or from the evil effects of the RASI which
represent the NAVAMSA occupied by the Lord of the 8th HOUSE.
“ ll पैत्यज्वरोष्णैर्जठराग्निनाजे वृषे त्रिदोषैर्दहनाच्च
शास्त्रात् l
युग्मे तु कालश्वसानोष्णशूलैरुन्मादवातारुचिभिः
कुलीरे ll………..१७.
17, If ARIES (मेष) is the RAASI said in the previous verse fever caused by excessive bile,
gastric disorders, Heat strokes and such ailments will be the cause of death.
If it is Taurus (वृषभ), then the person will die due to
any of the three bodily humors called (त्रिदोष)- THRIDOSHA
i.e WIND, BILE AND PHELGM ( वात, पित्त, कफ) all having
five types or injury through operation or weapon, and Fire
If GEMINI (मिथुन) is the RAASI the death will be due to inflammation
of mucus membranes in any of the airways of human body, or asthma or colic
pain. If CANCER (कर्क्कीटक) is the RAASI then the death will
be due to mental disease, rheumatism, (or such
वात रोगं) loss of appetite etc.
“ ll मृगज्वरस्फोटजशत्रुजं हरौ स्त्रियां
स्त्रियागुह्यरुजा प्रपातनात् l
उलाधरे धिज्वरसंनिपातजं प्लीहालिपाण्डुग्रहणीरुजालिनि ll “……१८.
18. If the RAASI in question is LEO
(सिंह) then the death will be by injuries caused by wild
animals like Mad dog, wild elephants, Mad cats etc. fever, boils or
enemies.
If the RAASI under consideration is VIRGO (कन्या), then the cause of death will be due to women or venereal diseases, or great
fall from height.
if it is LIBRA (तुला) , then the death will be due to brain fever or Typhoid.
If it is SCORPIO (वृश्चिक), then the death will be due to
splenomegaly or anemia, jaundice or recurrent pain in upper abdomen.
“ ll वृक्षाम्बुकाष्ठायुधजं हयाङ्गे मृगे तु शूलारुचिधीभ्रमाघैः l
कुम्भे तु कासज्वरययकक्ष्मरोगैर्जले विपद्वा जलरोगतोऽन्त्ये ll “………….१९.
19. If SAGITTARIUS (धनुस) is the RAASI which is referred to, then the death will be due to injury
from falling tree or fall from tree top, from Water, any wood or weapon.
If CAPRICORN (मकरं) is the RAASI in question then the death will
be due to stomach ache , anorexia nervosa or mental troubles.
If AQUARIUS (कुम्भ) is under reference then the cause of death will be
due to cough, fever or excessive consumption of alcohol etc.
If PISCES ( मीन ) RAASI is under reference then the death will be due
to drowning in water, watery diseases, MAHODARA etc.
HOWEVER THE ASTROLOGER HAS TO BE CAREFUL IN JUDGING
THE CAUSE OF DEATH.
“ ll पापर्क्षयुक्ते निधने सपापे शस्त्रानलव्याध्रभूङ्गपीडा l
अन्योन्यदृष्टौ व्द्यशुभौ सक्न्द्रौ कोपात्प्रभोः
शस्त्रविषाग्निजैर्वा ll “…………..२०.
20. If the owner of the 8TH HOUSE is a malefic, then the death
has to be weapon, Tiger (or Wild animal) or serpent.
“ ll सौम्यंशके सोउम्यग्रुहेऽथ सौम्यसम्बन्दके वा क्षयभे क्षयेशे l
अक्लेशजातं मरणं नराणां व्यस्ते तदा क्रूरमृतीं
वदन्ति ii “……………….२१
21. If the in a nativity the Lord of the 12th
House (व्रय स्थान) or the NAVAAMSHA be in a sign of
Benefic or be associated with a Benefic , the death of the person will be
peaceful and without any grief (अक्लेश मरणं).
On the other hand , the the native
will suffer a painful death, if the Lord of the 12th House or
NAVAAMSHA be in the house of a malefic or be associated with a malefic .
“ ll स्वेच्चे स्वमित्रे सति सौम्य
वर्गे व्ययाधिपे चेर्ध्वगतिं ससौम्ये l
विपर्यंयेऽधोगतिमेव केचिदूर्ध्वास्यशीर्षोदयराशिभेतात् ll “…………………२२.
22 When the Lord of 12th House is in its HOUSE OF EXALTATION , a friendly House, or in the division of a
benefic planet or in association with a Benefic planet his/hers soul will go to
heaven.ie. the SHIRODYA SIGN
In case the
lord of 12th House is in debilitation or an inimical House or in
association of a malefic planet his/her soul will go to HELL ie. PRUSHTODAYA
SIGN.
“ ll कैलासं रविशीतगू भृगुसुतः स्वर्ग
महीजो महीं
वैकुण्ठं शशिजो यमो यमपुरं सद्ब्रह्मलोकं
गुरुः l
द्विपान्
भोगिवरः शिखी तु निरयं सम्प्रापयेत्प्राणिनः
सम्भन्धाव्द्ययानायकस्य
कथयेत्तत्रान्त्यराश्यंशतः ll “………………..२३
23. The abode of the departed soul. if RAVI or
CHANDRA occupies the 12th HOUSE or its NAVAMSA or the the 12th
HOUSE with which RAVI 0r CHANDRA is connected, then the soul will go to
KAILASAM .
If the
planet is KUJA then the departed soul will have rebirth in the earth;
If BUDHA is
such a planet, then the departed soul will go to VAIKUNTA;
If GURU is
the planet then the abode of the soul will be BRAHMA LOKA;
If SHUKRA
is the planet, then the abode will be INDRA LOKA (SWARGA LOKA);
In case it
is MANDHA, then the abode will be YAMA
LOKA; and
In case it
is RAAHU OR KETHU the soul will be going to Other islands and resting in NARAKA
respectively.
“ ll धर्मेश्वरेणैव हि पूर्वजन्म वृत्तं भविष्यज्जननं सुतेशात् l
तदिशजातिं तदधिष्ठितर्क्षदिशं हि तत्रेव
तदिशदेशम् ll “,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,२४.
24. We must check the position of the
LORD OF THE 9th HOUSE to know the past birth of the Native
and all information about the future birth of the Native should be ascertained
from the 5TH HOUSE. This will
give the information about the particular caste/religion, the direction of the
Native concerned etc of the past birth and the present birth of the Native.
“ ll स्वोच्चे तदिशे सति देवभूमिं द्वीपान्तरं नीचरिपुस्थालस्थे l
स्वर्क्षे सुहृद्भे समभे स्थिते वा सम्प्राप्नुयाद्भारतवर्षमेव ll “…………२५
25. If the planet said in the above verse are in
their HOUSE OF EXALTATION( उच्च) , the abode can be declared as देवलोक (स्वर्गं) – HEAVEN. If they are in DEBILITATION
(नीच) or in an inimical sign the abode of the past and
future should be declared as a foreign island and if the said planets above are
in FRIENDS’ HOUSE or in a NEUTRAL SIGN the said-abodes should be declared as
BHARATHA VARSHA alone.
“ ll आर्यावर्तं गीष्पतेः पुण्यनद्यः
काव्येन्द्वोश्चज्ञस्य पुण्यस्थलानि l
पङ्गोर्निन्दा म्लेच्छभूस्तीक्ष्णभानोः शैलारण्यं
कीकटं भूमिजस्य ll “..२६.
26. AARYAAVARTHA belongs to GURU i.e. the place
in India bounded by HIMALAYAS in the north, SOUTH by the great mountain VINDHYA
which extends to the oceans in the EAST AND THE WEST;
SHUKRA AND CHANDRA has tracts watered by the HOLY SEVEN RIVERS
ie. (गङ्ग , यमुन , गोदावरि, सरस्वति, नर्मद, सिन्धु, कावेरी),
FOR MARS
(KUJA), it is KEEKATA (BIHAR);
FOR RAVI ,
all mountains and forests;
For BUDHA
(MERCURY), all sacred places and
For MANDHA
(SATURN) all places prohibited to HINDUS. In this
division KERALA is omitted. Most probably it is because it is
GOD’s OWN COUNTRY !
“ ll स्थिरे स्थिरांशाधिगतः सपापः पृष्ठोदयेऽधोमुखभे च
संस्थः l
ततीश्चरो वृक्षलतादिजन्म स्यादन्यथा जीवयुतः
शरीरी ll “………२७.
27. Here-in Manthreswara says that if the
planets which are referred in verse 24 about Lords of 9th House and
5th house a fixed Raasi or Navamsa, which are PRISHTODAYA and ADHOKUKA
RAASIS along with MALEFICS (i.e. MESHA,
VRUSHABHA, KARKKITAKA, DHANUS and MAKARA and the sign just passed the SUN in
which THE SECOND SIGN IS ADHO MUKHA (
LOOKING DOWNWARDS) , THE FIRSTt SIGN IS KNOWN AS OORDHWA MUKHA (
LOOKING UPWARDS) , THE THIRD SIGN IS KNOWN as SAMA MUKHA (EVEN) AND THE 4th
ONE IS CALLED AS VAKRA MUKHA ( CROOKED ), then the past and future of the
native will be taken as TREES, PLANTS and the like.
The PAST
AND FUTURE BIRTH OF A NATIVE born
likewise is associated with benefic sign
and are OORDHWA MUKA AND SHIRODAYA AND MOVEABLE SIGN will be as animals ie. 4 legged.
“ ll लग्नेशितुः स्वोच्चसुहृत्स्वगेहान्तदीश्वरो
याति मनुष्यजन्म l
समे मृगाः स्युर्वीहगाः परस्मिन् द्रेक्काणरूपैरपि
चिन्तनीयम् ll “………२८.
28. In a native’s horoscope , if the lords of 9th
or 5th is IN EXALTION POSITION OR OWN HOUSE OR in THE LORD OF THE
ASCENDANT’ S FRIEND,s HOUSE then the astrologer should declare that the
previous or future of the birth of the native will be as human being.
If the LORD
OF THE 9TH HOUSE OR 5TH HOUSE is a NEUTRAN SIGN then the birth as said above will be that of
an animal.
If the Lord
of the 9th or 5th house is in an inimical sign or
depressed sign then the birth said above should be declared as a BIRD.
All these
results are the same with reference to the DECANTE occupied by the 5th
or 9th SIGN.

29. When the LORDS OF 5TH AND (TH
HOUSES are in the same RAASI and if the Past birth and the future birth will be
in the same country.
If the said
planets have equal strength the caste, colour and qualities will be alike in
the past and future births.
The
astrologer should predict with reference to the decantes occupied by the planets said
above.
